If you are interested in being a contributor for the Something More blog, please submit a one or two-paragraph pitch to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Also include a 500-700 word writing sample in .doc or .docx format of any original work which you have authored (either published or unpublished). We will review you’re submission and get back with you within five (5) business days if we would like to see the full post.
SomethingMore.blog is a Christian lifestyle blog which ministers to our audience on a personal level to which readers can relate. For this reason, authors are encouraged to write from a personal perspective, being transparent enough to share something that you’ve personally experienced and/or writing as if you are sharing with a friend.
Posts can be practical, humorous, or narrative in nature and cover a variety of topics that appeal to women (spiritual/devotional topics, singleness, dating, marriage, parenthood, education, friendship, work-life balance, aging, self-care, decorating, etc.). Posts do not need to be overly spiritual, but should always be encouraging and reflect Christ-centered values as well as use at least one scripture to highlight your narrative, always pointing the reader back to Christ. There is a 750 word limit (excluding the writer’s bio) for each post.
Please know that the process is selective and all articles are subject to editing. Post titles are subject to change and content may be edited for style, grammar and/or substance. Links may be added for context and art/photos will the added at the discretion of SomethingMore.blog. Please include five to eight hashtags that relate to your article for social media postings. SomethingMore.blog will only post original articles which have not been previously published or posted on another blog site.
Something More does not pay for contributed articles, but we will promote them as we do our own articles across our social media accounts.
For each contributor/author, we will need a 100 (or less) word bio as well as a high-quality headshot, which will be included at the end of the post so that our readers can see who it is they’re connecting with.
Thank you for your interest in writing with Something More. Please let us know if you have questions or need additional information to submit your pitch.
